NBTC is for registration as an individual and the radio frequency used by the drone and drone remote control.
Owner must register with NBTC within 30 days of entering Thailand or purchasing a drone in Thailand even if you do not fly it.
Extended staying in Thailand, it will need to renew NBTC registration !
Penalty for unregistered drone with the NBTC is 100,000 baht or five years in prison or both.

The development and use of unmanned aerial vehicles is growing rapidly around the world. This creates a direction and demand at the international as well as the national level to have air traffic management for unmanned aircraft (Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management: UTM). AEROTHAI as the country's air traffic service agency. In collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand and Delv Aerospace Company. Therefore, we have initiated the development of air traffic management for unmanned aerial vehicles or the OpenSky Application to meet the overall needs of the country. Initially, the focus is on developing basic UTM in airspace management and permission to take off of unmanned aerial vehicles or drones in Controlled Airspace for the Bangkok Control Zone pilot area, or approximately 65 km from the airport. จากการพัฒนาและใช้อากาศยานไร้คนขับที่เติบโตขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็วทั่วโลก ซึ่งทำให้เกิดทิศทางและความต้องการระดับสากลตลอดจนระดับประเทศให้มีการบริหารจราจรทางอากาศสำหรับอากาศยานไร้คนขับ (Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management: UTM) บวท. ในฐานะหน่วยงานผู้ให้บริการจราจรทางอากาศของประเทศ ร่วมกับ สำนักงานการบินพลเรือนแห่งประเทศไทย และ บริษัท Delv Aerospace จึงได้ริเริ่มพัฒนาการบริหารจราจรทางอากาศสำหรับอากาศยานไร้คนขับ หรือ OpenSky Application ให้ตอบสนองความจำเป็นในภาพรวมของประเทศ โดยในเบื้องต้นมุ่งเน้นการพัฒนา UTM พื้นฐานในการบริหารจัดการห้วงอากาศและการอนุญาตให้ขึ้นบินของอากาศยานไร้คนขับหรือโดรนในพื้นที่ห้วงอากาศควบคุม Controlled Airspace สำหรับพื้นที่นำร่อง Bangkok Control Zone หรือประมาณ 65 กม. จากสนามบินดอนเมือง เพื่อให้การขออนุญาตการขึ้นบินโดรนเป็นไปได้อย่างสะดวก ปลอดภัย และถูกต้องการตามกฎระเบียบ โดยได้เริ่มใช้งานในพื้นที่ Bangkok Control Zone ตั้งแต่เดือนกันยายน ๒๕๖๕ เป็นต้นมา
Flight Restrictions in Thailand : No Fly ZONE

CAAT provides KML/KMZ files containing precise coordinates of No-Fly Zones. You can download the files from July 2021 via [Aerodome, No-Fly Zones]. The PDF outlining zone restrictions (source: CAAT, October 2023) when placed on Google Earth displays restricted areas such as parts of Ayutthaya, Saraburi's northeast, Pathum Thani's northeast, Rangsit (excluding a 9km radius around the Airport), Nakhon Nayok's west and south, Kabin Buri, Prachinburi's east and west, Kanchanaburi's northwest, most of Chachoengsao, MinBuri, Samutprakan (excluding a 9km radius around the Airport), Chonburi, Sa Kaeo's west, Chanthaburi's west and south, Samet, Rayong (excluding a 9km radius around the Airport), Trat's northwest (excluding a 9km radius around the Airport), Ratchaburi's west, a small vicinity around Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat's south, Phang Nga's south, Trang, Songkhla, Krabi, Phuket, and Narathiwat's south.
Bangkok, in general, is classified as a Special area. As of July 2021, the zone designated for the Royal Cremation Ceremony of the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej in September 2017 still remains. It's uncertain if the special regulations for this area are presently active, so exercise caution and ensure you have permission when flying within Bangkok.
